1930's Swedish Vinranka Flow Blue Pattern Water Pitcher

A Vinranka pattern flow blue water pitcher; the gorgeous and hard to find 1930's 6 inch tall, 28 oz. capacity pitcher one marked by the designer Arthur Percy and Swedish manufacturer, Gefle Porcelain Works is being offered for your consideration. The deep flown cobalt blue design of vines, leaves, berries and flying insects which graces this highly scalloped bulbous bodied pitcher is indeed a tribute to Arthur Percy, the famous Swedish painter and designer who was the artistic director of the Gefle porcelain factory from 1923-59; he combined forms from the Rococo period with Art Deco patterns. The pitcher measures 6 inches tall by 8 inches long (handle to lip) and 5 inches across the opening; it holds 28 liquid ounces. This beautiful pitcher is in near mint condition, no chips, cracks or hairlines; era typical crazing is present with one notable small glazed over factory pit in the white ware on the bottom of the foot rim (portion that sets on the table-see photo). Lip and rim and foot areas are free of chips, as is the rest of the piece and the glaze is very shiny. It is free of staining, bright white with a gorgeous flown cobalt blue design. A true treasure for your flow blue collection for display or addition to your Vinranka collection!
